Obituary of Edward "Lee" Forgey
Edward “Lee” Forgey, 75, of Polk City, Florida passed away on February 17, 2024 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland, Florida. Born to Edward and Rosell Forgey in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Lee moved from Tennessee to Florida 51 years ago and called it home. He attended Bradley County High School. He furthered his education by attending Lee State College, Middle Tennessee State University, and Lakeland College of Business. Lee was also a proud member of the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Frierson-Nichols American Legend Post 8 in Winter Haven, Florida.
Lee worked for the State of Florida / Polk County Health Department for 36 years as an environmental supervisor over public water systems and pools before retiring. He enjoyed going to the beach, playing pool, camping at the beach and going to the Smokey Mountains, watching football especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rosell Forgey; brother, Steve A. Forgey. He is survived by his wife, Dianne; son, Mark L. Forgey (Mary); grandson, Marc E. Forgey; great grandchildren, Mason and Marlyann Forgey. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
