Obituary of Dana Evans Bateman, Sr.

Dana Evans Bateman, Sr., 63, of Lake Alfred, FL, passed away on February 12, 2024, at his residence. Born on May 22, 1959, in Ormond Beach, Florida, to James William and Beverly Rose Meixer Bateman. Dana moved to Lake Alfred in 2012 from Pennsylvania, he dedicated 16 years of his life to pest control and held strong to his Christian faith.

Dana found happiness in simple things like watching TV, being outdoors, walking, and gardening. He enjoyed chatting with people and spending time with his family and his three cats. Known for his strong work ethic, Dana believed in doing things right the first time, often advising others that if you want something done correctly, do it yourself. Despite being an outgoing and sociable individual, he had a sentimental side that he occasionally concealed. Dana was the type of person who would readily give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Dana leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Dana Evans Bateman, Jr. of Lakeland, FL, Nicholas Lee Bateman of Modesto, CA, and Brent Ulysses Bateman and wife, Melissa of Haines City, FL; daughter, Jessica Roseann Andrews of Modesto, CA; brother, Charles Bateman of Lake Alfred, FL; sisters, Bonnie Sutton and husband, Willie of New Lebanon, OH and Michelle Berger of Winter Haven, FL; and thirteen amazing grandchildren.
