Obituary of Emma Jane Blue

Emma Jane Blue, 95, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024. Jane was born on July 22, 1928, to William and Coye Jernigan in Coffee County, Alabama. She had seven brothers and sisters, all of whom preceded her in death.

Jane met and married Gene, her husband of more than 70 years, in Alabama. They later moved to Haines City, Florida and eventually to Davenport, Florida. She was employed in the citrus industry and retired from Citrus World. She was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church in Haines City. She loved watching and caring for songbirds, hummingbirds and butterflies. She was an avid seamstress who loved needlecraft work and quilting and sharing her work with family and friends. She and Gene also loved spending time in the North Carolina mountains.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene, and all her siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Linder and her husband, Larry, as well as Jenny Blank and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Richie Linder, Melanie Brooks and her husband, Roby, Lindsey Scarpati and her husband, Tom and Abby Fowler and her husband, TJ; great grandchildren include RJ, Payton and Molly Brooks; Thomas, Natalie and Nathan Scarpati; and Holly and Hannah Fowler. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 3:30 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City.
