Obituary of Joyce H. Carefoot

Joyce Carefoot, of Winter Haven, passed away on June 8, 2022. She was born on February 21, 1947 and spent her childhood in St. Petersburg, FL. Joyce graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1964. After high school, she attended Stetson University where she received a BA in History. She married George Carefoot on June 14,1969. They had one child, the light of her life, Casey Carefoot of Tampa, Fl. Joyce returned to Stetson in 1989 and received her M.Ed. degree. She spent her entire career in education, starting as a high school History teacher and retiring as a middle school Guidance Counselor with South Seminole Middle School located in Casselbury, Fl.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing golf and traveling. She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Hazel Hewitt and aunt Helen Blackburn. 

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven on Thursday, July 7th at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends starting at 10:30 in the vestibule.
