Obituary of Frances Marilla Cobb Strickland

Frances Marilla Cobb Strickland of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022. She was 72. Born August 28, 1949 in Ft. Benning, Georgia to Luther and Minnie Lee Cobb, Frances has lived in this area most of her life. She was a much sought after Seamstress for custom sewing and alterations. Known for wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and uniforms for Auburndale and Winter Haven High School sporting events for over 30 years. Frances earned her Associate Degree from Polk State College, and she attended Westwood Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven. Beloved wife and mother, Frances is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Leon Strickland, her sons: Brian Strickland (Theresa) and William Strickland, and her daughter Daisy Pinner Strickland. She also leaves behind a niece Tonya Ramirez, and a grandson Zakery Wade Strickland. Visitation will be Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM.
