Obituary of Ed Miller

Ed Miller, 74, of Davenport, FL passed away on December 15, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on August 13, 1947 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Edward and Gertrude Fitzgerald Miller. Ed was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam war from 1968 to 1970, obtaining the rank of Specialist 4. He started working at a young age becoming the youngest manager at the AMP grocery store. Ed also worked for various trucking companies throughout his life as a truck driver for 15 plus years and spent some of his working years as an insurance salesman. Ed had an enthusiastic passion for teaching Karate and achieved a 2nd and 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo. He taught a hand full of children for over 5 years. Ed was a wonderful man, a devoted and loving husband, who adored his wife, and doted constantly over his only granddaughter Olivia. He enjoyed action and horror movies and was an avid collector of coins and swords. Ed also loved the outdoors and was very much in tune with nature. His family and friends will remember him for his sense of humor, his wittiness, his laid back personality and his kind spirit. He is preceded in death by his parents. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Miller; son, Edward Vincent Miller of NJ; daughters, Laura Ann Coopey and husband, Charlie of NJ and Sherry Healey of KY; sisters, Edna Post, and Judy Capp of NJ; grandchildren, Chaz, Olivia and Brandon; nephews, George, Maureene, Irene, Tish, Michael, Jimmy, Lenore, Donna and Christine; and his baby fur, Andy. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, Florida.
